Cybercrime is a growing threat due to the increasing importance of digital technology in our economies and societies. In a few years, illegal activities carried out on the Internet or via digital media have increased considerably. The repression of these new types of offences is particularly complex, and the legislator has had to adapt the law to counter them effectively.
JP Karsenty intervenes alongside individuals and legal entities to react as quickly as possible and implement the means to stop the infringement, in particular by taking action against the hosts and publishers of the websites used to commit the infringement. Our intervention extends from the filing of a complaint to representation before the criminal courts, including investigation procedures.
In addition, JP Karsenty has developed its consulting activity with hosts and publishers of online sites, given their increased criminal liability.
The cybercrime and e-reputation team is led by Matthieu Chirez and Thomas Ricard, former secretaries of the Conference. They are accompanied by a team consisting of a senior associate and a junior associate.
